My husband and I began this business 10 years
ago as a hobby that started in our house, then
purchased a brick & mortar five years later. I
have always loved to sew and embroider. I
bought my first Kenmore sew/embroidery
machine and was making designs for me,
Christmas presents, and fellow teachers. I am
still a teacher of twenty years, teaching music to
students K-6th grades which, I also enjoy.

We are so fortunate to own this old building.
Many people told us we should tear it down and
build a new one. It has great style, besides we
did not want to destroy the architecture. It was
built in 1903 when the French architectural
influence in Louisiana was strong. If you look
closely, you will see that there are Fleur de lis
wrapped around the edge, near the top of the
roof. Below is a picture of the roofs edge.
This is one of the many reasons we chose the
Fleur de lis as our logo. Another reason in
choosing this design was because of the two
devastating Hurricanes that hit Louisiana in
2005, Katrina & Rita. Have you ever wondered
what this symbol means? In French, fleur de lis
literally means "lily flower". The three petals of
the heraldic design reflect a widespread
association with the Holy Trinity, a tradition
going back to 14th century France, added onto
the earlier belief that they also represented
faith, wisdom and chivalry. The Christian Trinity
meaning Father, Son & Holy Spirit as one in God.
Perhaps that is the main reason we chose this
logo, for without God and prayer we would not
be in this exciting business!
